I thought beach camping was actually on the beach with water right at or near your site. Third Beach tends to be a bit less congested than its neighbor to the north Second Beach likely owing to the longer hike and the less impressive sea stacks and tide pools. The hike to the beach was pretty quick down. Youll find a few places to camp close to. The night was very uneventful apart from the high tide that got to 10ft away from my tent.

It was a Sunny day and a lot of folks where camping here but it didnt seem too compact with all the tents. Just north of Los Angeles Ventura County is the place to go if you have visions of setting up your RV parked right next to the ocean. I was lucky to find a quiet camping spot at the east end of Third Beach. Crystal Cove State Park in southern California. This park has a long beach to walk paved paths on the bluff and a historical district with a restaurant and bar.

An awesome spot for beginners and pros alike with all the draws of big coast camping and only a short 12 mile hike to the water Third Beach is by far my favorite spot to get away from the crowds and enjoy some ocean side solidarity. There is a waterfall towards the south side of the beach called Strawberry Falls which we hiked up and past on our way south. My main reasoning for coming to 3rd Beach was to capture the best photographs of the surroundings among the Pacific Northwest setting here in Washington.
